IS Applications System Analyst, Senior

Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi-site mission-driven non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.
GLFHC is currently seeking an IS Applications System Analyst, Senior. The primary function of this position is to analyze the data needs and requirements for the Health Center and to create and/or maintain the reports, forms,and/or applications that provide the necessary data in such a manner that end users can easily understand and use to make informed decisions or to report required information to internal management, federal, state, or local agencies. Shares responsibility for customer/user satisfaction as it relates to IS Applications services, support and reporting efforts.
Plan and lead workflow and data analysis projects as needed.
Participate as a member of the Data Analysis team in the analysis, documentation, and communication of all changes implemented by any new software release and insure the reporting system is updated to prevent any disruption of data availability.
Support all assigned installed applications to ensure timely and accurate operation including the testing and validation of all patches and releases.
Work with the Infrastructure, Clinical Informatics and Business Intelligence teams to ensure that all application specifications are understood and communicated.
Provide management and support staff with the appropriate data required for reporting compliance and adherence to Meaningful Use (or any current reporting standard) Standards by editing/updating existing EMR or Practice Management reports and/or by creating new reports currently adopted and approved reporting tools (GLFHC uses CQR and this requires some analysis and understanding).
Participate as a reporting and data expert on the Reporting Prioritization Committee, provide status of current projects and insure the data analyst team understands prioritized work.
Support Application Systems Director in the enforcement of data reporting guidelines including correct logging and prioritization of reports and data maintenance.
The SASA will be proficient in using the reporting tools provided with the assigned software systems, i.e. Report Builder, PowerBI, WebFocus, SQL Server etc as required.
Under the direction of the Applications Director, support the Operations, Finance and Patient Accounts departments to insure the timely availability of data and reports through the proper use of the Athena System as required by billing regulations and the CFO.
Advise and train junior personnel in the support of assigned applications and systems.
Support the Helpdesk in the proper user administration procedures.
Work with the DBA to automate data delivery to the Data Warehouse and other supported environments.
Act as a knowledge base for IS department staff and provide answers, thoughts, and/or opinions when approached for assistance.
Maintain currency in healthcare informatics, software development, practice management/billing trends and regulatory requirements in order to ensure that the Health Center maintains up to date systems.
Become knowledgeable about the GLFHC Improvement plan and the model for improvement endorsed by the organization.
On a regular basis participate in ongoing quality improvement activities related to individual, team, and organizational performance improvement.
Complete all activities within GLFHC security policies and practices to insure the safety and privacy of data, its clients, and its resources.

Qualifications
Experience
Experience with Electronic Health Records, Athena preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of supporting, configuring and maintaining installed applications for the use in a clinical or similarly rigorous
Knowledge of scripting language to facilitate the management of applications and computing environments desirable.
Seven to ten years' experience as a Data Analyst, Programmer Analyst or similar
Application design, development and testing experience strongly
Proficient with Windows, database technologies and computing
Strong data and trend analysis as it relates to the delivery of high quality
Strong customer service background.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).
Prior Experience with SQL Server and data visualization tools a plus ie PowerBI,
Prior experience with process or workflow improvement
Prior accounting or statistical analysis experiences a
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field (Candidates with ten years' experience with progressive and directly related responsibility may be considered).
