Registered Behavior Technician
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who are responsible for all work RBTs perform.
May potentially work 1:1, 1:2 or in a small group with a student or other designated ratio depending on the nature of the disability and learning needs.
May be required to run task analysis for daily living skills that may include eating, toileting, hygiene care
Training in Physical Management protocols such as Safety Care.
Develop appropriate materials that correspond with the lesson under the direction of the BCBA and special education Teacher.
Under the supervision of the teacher/BCBA, assist in creating and/or editing behavior and academic data.
Collect and summarize individualized data based on the educational and behavioral programs developed by the special education teacher and/or the BCBA
Monitor and report student progress to the teacher/BCBA for academics and behavior.
Assist the teacher/BCBA in the formulation of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP) as well as implementing the BSP with fidelity.
Under the supervision of the BCBA/special education teacher, provide coaching to staff members in implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis including but not limited to behavior plans and data collection.
Experience running Discrete Trial Training (DTT) programs, Natural Environment Teaching (NET). Experience with program development is a plus.
Carry over and implementation of instructional programs developed by the regular/special education teacher.
Carry out other assignments designated by the classroom teacher or special education supervisor.
Required Skills, Experience, Competencies:
Registered RBT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb, run.
The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move children/objects
The employee must be able to work in a noisy, stressful, high-pressure environment, and still be able to concentrate and keep children safe.
RBT or BCBA certification is required. Supervision will be provided by BCBA, TFL and Administration.
