The Quality Assessments Division of Smithers is seeking an HR Generalist in our Akron, Ohio office. This role supports the development and promotion of a positive work environment that reflects ethics/integrity, goal-focus, teamwork and individual development.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, training and development, employee relations, competencies and global HR support for full time employees and contract workers.
  • Support operations and staffing plan execution.
  • Coordinates auditor onboarding, competency and training requirements.
  • Participates in monthly management team meetings, critical action item review, functional area reporting and business metrics.
  • Represents The Smithers Group company relations programs, including Wellness Program, culture initiatives, and division and regional events.
  • Ensures adherence to HR compliance of policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs office management activities such as ordering supplies, arranging special events, scheduling front desk coverage, etc.
  • Performs administrative duties as assigned by the President.
Qualifications, Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or technical school (HR concentration)
  • (2) years HR experience preferred
  • HR certification preferred
  • (2) years customer service preferred
  • Knowledge of HR management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Outlook
