No call or weekendsThe Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer performs echocardiology procedures utilized in the diagnosis of congenital acquired heart disease on the pediatric population and congenital heart disease in adult patients. The position performs in accordance with the departments/facility policies, procedures and protocols. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient being served.Records, interrogates, quantifies, and measures both presence of normal and abnormal anatomy or physiology in a manner consistent with approved standards. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Experience in pediatric complex congenital diseases and procedures is preferred. Open to training the right motivated candidate if little or no experience. Pediatric registry preferred or acquired within 18 months of employment. Basic Life Support certification required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable. Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at the time of hire and must successfully pass it within one year from start date through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ACS, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, RCCS. If applicant currently holds a registry in adult echo, applicant has 18 months to obtain pediatric registry, Either through ARDMS or CCI Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
