Description

Overview of the Position:

Oversee all engineering and sourcing requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design of commercial aircraft aftermarket parts by reverse engineering.
  • If required incumbent may use standard measurement tools such as a micrometer or caliper to gather dimensional data.
  • Create 3D CAD models and dimensional data reports from reverse engineering data.
  • Create manufacturing drawings of aftermarket parts from dimensional reports, material analysis, and available technical data.
  • Manage multiple reverse engineering projects simultaneously.
  • Create reports and data packages to be submitted to the FAA for certification.
  • Assist in drawing and report checking.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with ASME Y14.5 dimension and geometric tolerance standards.
  • Familiar with aerospace manufacturing methods and processes related to the creation of precision structural aircraft parts, sheet metal parts, machine parts such as gears, bearings, seals, etc.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling, with Solid Works experience preferred.
  • Experience with FAA certification process preferred.
Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum 2-5 years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
