This position will support the broader team of financial reporting professionals; completing validation of information provided by company sources. The successful incumbent will monitor results and produce exception reports along with fluctuation analyses to ensure the team achieves the timeframes and reporting standards required by their stakeholders. This is an extraordinary opportunity to grow with our dynamic and leading long-term, reinsurance business in Bermuda, gaining exposure to life and annuity business across several accounting and capital regimes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Monthly and quarterly closing procedures, including tracking availability of information, reviewing variances in trend or expected levels, producing control and flash reports, preparing reconciliations.

Investigate unanticipated variances, providing timely feedback to source areas to ensure that issues are addressed promptly within close timeframes.

Participate in analytical review of performance of the reinsurance and borrower entities assigned. This will include flux analyses, actual to expected reviews and identification of key drivers.

Timely planning, preparation and compilation of quarterly and annual financial reports, footnotes and supporting documentation.

Support system enhancements and recommend process/system improvements that maximize operating efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

5+ years of relevant analytical work experience; recent experience in life insurance with reinsurance exposure preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP or US Statutory accounting

Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence others and communicate across all areas

Ability to manage competing priorities with a continuous improvement mindset

Proven success delivering automation solutions highly desirable

Familiarity with Essbase, Hyperion, W Desk, Tableau, and other reporting and analysis applications a plus
