**JOB SUMMARY:** We are seeking for Full-Time **Patient Services Representatives** to join our growing practice.This position is responsible for making the initial and subsequent patient/client encounter(s) with our organization as professional, pleasurable and efficient as possible. Check-In, Check-Out, collecting copays, etc. Communicating with patients in person and by phone in a busy, fast-paced office. Address each patient/client inquiry specific to their needs; schedule and reschedule (as needed) patient appointments. Updating patient information and insurance information.

**REQUIREMENTS:** Prior medical office and EMR experience is strongly preferred. Recent CMA or LPN graduates may be considered. We are looking for an energetic, reliable, team player for our busy, fast-paced practice

**Front Desk Receptionist**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Summary/Objective**This position is responsible for making the initial and subsequent patient/client encounter(s) within Riverchase Dermatology as professional, pleasurable and efficient as possible from scheduling to check-out.

**Essential Functions**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The following is a general outline of the basic responsibilities of the Patient Services Representative which include check-in, check-out, and general customer service. Please note this is not all inclusive and is subject to change without prior notice.

- Greet patients, family members, care-givers, and visitors to the practice and oversee the sign-in/check-in process.

- Confirm patient address, telephone number and insurance information and enter changes or updates into the practice management system.

- Answer incoming calls, taking messages or transferring to appropriate associate

- Ensure that voicemail messages are listened to and distributed appropriately, promptly at least daily.

- Open facility, turn on lights, unlock front doors, turn on TV and music system, place current newspaper in lobby

- Schedule new patient appointments, follow-ups and suture removals for all walk ins

- Incoming faxes are scanned to EHR chart and new note is created to appropriate provider

- Reviews next day scheduling and fills in or fixes accordingly

- Gives the days schedule, along with sign-in sheet to the person handling check-out for the daily close

- Confirm appropriate lab has been assigned based on payers benefits

- Print superbills, insurance card and labels to be placed in provider pocket folder for the patient to be expedited for clinical care

- Collect copays, deductibles and past due balances prior at time of check in

- Checks patient account balance prior to appointment date

- Greets patients at check-out and reviews the Super Bill

- Confirms that all specimens are being sent to the correct lab

- Schedules new patient, follow-up and suture removal appointments

- Collects co-payments, co-insurance, balance or deposits due

- Enters comments to patient accounts as needed for billing purposes

- Post all retail and cosmetic charges at time of service, applying any discounts applicable

- Balances end of day trial and receipt log

- Balances credit card receipts with credit card settlement

- Counts patient change box, and balances on the log with initials

- Secures patient change box and trial by locking it in the safe at end of day

- Turns off lights, TV and music system; locks doors.

- Closely observe all patients areas ensuring no patients have been missed or are unaccounted for, provide regular updates regarding wait times, and ensuring all patients are receiving the highest standard of care.

- Maintains a positive attitude by caring and being supportive of patients, visitors, providers and fellow team members

- Assists in maintaining a smooth, punctual and efficient patient flow

- Checks inter-office mail daily

- Ensure that all waiting areas and patient areas are clean and tidy at all times.

- Handle all patient and outside medical records requests

- Monitor fax and distribute to appropriate staff

- Ensure all paper documentation is scanned to patients EHR chart

**Supervisory Responsibility**This position holds no formal supervisory authority.

**Work Environment**This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
