This position is for a ServiceNow application developer passionate about learning new tools and techniques. The portal team will identify needed system improvements to modernize and automate various state services that citizens utilize. This role is more than just application development, as you will analyze the needs and the environment to help ensure the solution the team develops considers the current architecture and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements. This applicant will be someone who enjoys collaborating within a team environment to provide end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced agile environment to create the ultimate UI/UX experience. ServiceNow experience is a huge plus. This position will report to the Portal Development Manager.

This temporary, full-time, benefit-eligible position is based on federal ARPA funding. Position funding will end no later than December 31, 2026.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD), supporting the Citizen Portal Team, and will report to the Citizen Portal Development Manager.

  • Analyze, collaborate, develop, test, and deploy end-to-end solutions within the citizen portal platform.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, technology vendors, and application development teams to design and implement plans for the successful adoption and growth of portal technologies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed specifications for projects built within ServiceNow.
  • Build, maintain, support, and enforce ITSD policies to guide the consistent development within the portal platform including guidelines for compliance requirements, and establishing governance processes that all platform users will utilize.
  • Day-to-day general support, administration, and maintenance of the citizen portal and associated applications built in ServiceNow.
  • Work directly with end users to resolve support issues within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards within ServiceNow.
  • Experience with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, and databases.
  • ServiceNow Experience a plus.
  • Ability to learn new things in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with assisting other developers, and providing training.
  • Front-facing UX/UI development experience preferred.
  • Passion for strategic planning and process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and digitally.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to accurately estimate project length.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
