Operations Support Specialist II

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Insights is seeking an Operations Specialist II to serve as a trusted advisor to the activity commanders and activity leads, serving as a project manager and process expert in support of a holistic program rollout.

Operations Support Specialist II Responsibilities Include:
  • Advise and assist applicants regarding application process; update applicant data records in the activity accessions database.
  • Perform all tasks necessary for applicants' security clearance validation.
  • Collaborate with accessions leadership, organization leaders, and candidates to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of recruiting tools, systems, delivery, and processes; conduct benchmarking research and leverage findings to identify and implement improvements to accessions management processes across the organization.
  • Work with government customer to create and implement processes and systems that empower an extraordinary recruitment experience for program candidates.
  • Lead the project management, change management and communications support for military accessions, and HR initiatives that help build organizational capability, drive performance, and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Oversees contracted aspects of accessioning data, processes, and procedures to deliver a gold standard approach in identifying and validating needs; blueprint, build, and rollout of solutions; and drive sustainable support and tracking of accessioning solutions and support.
  • Identify trends, opportunities for efficiencies, and provide recommendations for alignment on accessioning solutions, development approaches and training practices.
  • Track key metrics associated with human resources people management and workforce planning; develop and deliver briefings, strategies, reports, plans, meeting notes, presentations, etc., to stakeholders, as required.
  • Conduct personnel data pulls through HR systems; perform cross audits of employee records entered to maintain data integrity.
  • Conduct analysis of personnel data pulls through HR systems in order to identify eligible candidates and to identify ineligible candidates.
  • Advise and assist the activity recruiting team on effective ways to identify the most qualified candidates for the activity mission.
  • Conduct critical analysis and support to the activity recruiting and accession processes, and military training processes; performs analytic support on all projects, research abstract data/information, and verifies completeness of data/information in collaboration with current business management techniques.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) checks of all contract deliverables to ensure products and services meet the agreed standards and specifications; coordinate with cross discipline team members to ensure all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Supports business process improvements and modernization projects; document and analyze business and functional requirements so that they may be accurately translated into process maps and technical system requirements.
  • Conduct analysis and deliver content to internal stakeholders; assists in integration and delivery of assigned activities or tasks; manage client interaction and expectations regarding team efforts.
  • Understand industry best practices of HR systems and technology solutions; work with the government and team members to identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for service delivery improvement and new technology implementation.
  • Assist the program manager throughout the life cycle of the Task Order; support a continuous improvement process by providing recommendations on improving products, services, and processes.
  • Maintains statistical data; manages databases and utilizes HR automated tools and systems.
  • Perform other related duties in support of specialized military recruiting and training missions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Operations Support Specialist II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Associate's degree in human resources, business management, or a related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive HR experience, with a working knowledge of multiple human resources (HR) policies, operational processes and considerations; ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly.
  • Minimum if three (3) of experience supporting high-OPTEMPO, multifaceted organizations.
  • Working knowledge or a liaison background in working military personnel programs (prefer military recruiting and training).
  • Minimum of two (2) two years of experience in military correspondence, policies or procedures, providing technical guidance on style, composition, and correct formats, organizing workload and master suspense logs, providing customer service.
  • Advanced MS Word skills; proficient PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook application skills.
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situation with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
