This mission-critical position will secure funding from various government agencies (city, state, federal) to support UCC's mission and programs. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of government grant processes, excellent writing skills, and a passion for advancing the UCC mission. This position will produce a large amount written material under deadline, as well as track deadlines and support reporting and budgeting. ResponsibilitiesWrite compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organizational priorities.Research and identify government grant opportunities at the federal, state, and local levels that align with the organization's mission and programs.Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of grant guidelines, eligibility criteria, and application requirements for government funding sources.Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather information, data, and programmatic details necessary for grant proposals.Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, responses, and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and regulations, track all information in our grants management system (Salesforce)Manage a small portfolio of grantors including funding priorities, grants and reports deadlines, and key contacts.Monitor and track government grant trends, policy developments, and funding opportunities relevant to the organization's mission and programs.Collaborate with the Director of Development and Chief Compliance Officer to monitor contract management activities (which may include but are not limited to ensuring that reports are completed on time, are reflective of contractual outcomes, and include all necessary data).Support department events and represent the agency at outside events as necessaryOther duties as assignedQualificationsQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, with a proven track record of successfully securing government grants for nonprofit organizations, particularly in the social services and education sector.Strong understanding of government grant processes, regulations, and compliance requirements, with experience working with federal, state, and/or local government agencies.Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals and other written materials.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.Expert knowledge in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and resourcefulness in research techniquesExperience using Salesforce or other CRM. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Limited evening and weekend hours.
