Position Summary:

Working under the general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this position primarily works within Operations to improve productivity, efficiency and safety through the implementation of industry best standards for light assembly. Also works with other departments, including but not limited to Design Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, to reach similar goals.

Responsibilities:

Work with production staff to develop production line balancing for varying staff levels for serial and cellular layouts in regards to new and existing products Create and maintain work instructions Perform regular capacity analysis based on available forecast information Use the DMAIC process/tools to identify and justify improvement projects Define incoming part packaging - specifying returnable packaging where appropriate Assist the production staff with documentation development based on station definition and line balancing Maintain current routings in JDE and use both systems to determine what lines/products benefit the most from line balancing and improved part presentation Manage the component tracking system. Use quality auditing and CRM DAQ to determine additional requirements Identify opportunities and develop solutions for improvements to ergonomics Other functions as required and assigned by management

Qualifications:

1-3 years of proven experience with Lean or Quick Response Manufacturing in a manufacturing environment 4 year BSME, BSIE or equivalent degree required Experience with cellular layout/methodology in regards to light assembly required Experience with SolidWorks Composer preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Basic knowledge of hand and power tools required Experience with brazing/welding operations preferred Basic HVAC knowledge preferred Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators Proficiency in working in a Windows environment - All Office programs; Teams and SharePoint are a plus Basic database programming knowledge and utilization a plus (Access, SQL, etc.) Knowledge of Excel VBA a plus Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus Ability to lift, bend, good hand dexterity and visual inspection is required Must be highly safety conscious
