We are looking for skilled Controls Engineers and Technicians to manage building automation systems in and around Madison, WI. This is a field role with minimal travel beyond day trips. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and be responsible for installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting building automation controls and facility management systems, as per engineering plans and specifications. The role requires effective communication with customers, field teams, and subcontractors, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of field designs, participating in engineering turnover meetings with the project field team.

Troubleshoot system issues, collaborating with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

Make modifications to existing Building Management Systems (BMS) as needed.

Configure operator workstations and required software.

Calibrate, configure, and perform point-to-point verification of controllers, peripherals, and power supplies.

Conduct functional testing of the specified sequence of operations for controlled electrical or mechanical equipment.

Communicate with project management and/or customers upon arrival and before departure, keeping them informed of progress.

Review customers' systems, identify areas for improvement, and keep management informed of customer concerns and issues.

Participate in third-party commissioning of controlled systems.

Complete all necessary commissioning documentation and provide accurate information for as-built documentation.

Provide site-specific training for owners/operators and assist with turnover to service.

Communicate effectively with general or mechanical contractors, consultants, architect engineers, and other subcontractors.

Adhere to safety standards, ensuring the safety of employees and subcontractors.

Convey technical material to a non-technical audience.

Requirements

2+ years of general controls engineering experience.

No prior building automation experience required; PLC programming from any industry is acceptable.

Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
