Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Finance to join our team. This is a hands-on role in a mid-market company, where the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading our finance department. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this individual will be groomed to eventually step into the role of CFO. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, coupled with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and strategic financial management. This is an onsite position, and travel will be required occasionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A.
  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial stability.
  • Drive the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop and monitor financial plans and targets.
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement and growth.
  • Evaluate and optimize the company's capital structure, cash flow management, and liquidity strategies.
  • Support fundraising efforts and investor relations activities, as needed.
  • Partner with senior management to develop and execute strategic initiatives and business plans.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven track record of 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A, with the ability to develop and execute strategic financial plans.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary in the range of $150,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience.
