Software Engineer Controls

Job Summary:

Our client in Allen Park, MI is looking for a Software Engineer Controls. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

Be the core RF/Wireless/Software/System lead Engineer responsible for various system interface functions and ECUs in the BLE Subsystem within onboard and off board systems. The selected candidate will support many features but will be focused on the UWB keyfob portion. The BLE/UWB/NFC or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or Ultra-wideband (UWB) or Near Field communication (NFC) subsystems are comprised of the central BLE/UWB control module (BLEM/BUN) and arrange of BLE/UWB/NFC Antennas that collectively are utilized on a global cross-vehicle basis in nameplate vehicles. The primary feature that the BLEM/BUN/BLEAMs/UWB Anchors support is PaaK (Phone As A Key), and some of the additional features include UWB radar and OTA. The BLEM/BUN communicates with the Antennas via communication protocol such as dedicated LIN or private CAN-FD, communicate with smart phone via BLE/UWB and Via CAN/CAN-FD with other ECUs in the vehicle such as Body Control Module, Telematics Control Module, Sync Control Module, and other feature specific modules. The selected candidate will also need to help support the other features as required. Activities include but not limited to: Reviewing specifications provided and ensure they do not cause conflict with other features Review code with supplier as needed to confirm correct implementation and adherence to requirements Confirmation of delivery of specific stories and tasks related to feature assigned.

Basics:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Skilled in Netcom requirements, Danlaw testing, EOL testing, Vehicle diagnostics, CAN tools, etc.
  • General understanding of vehicle Cyber Security cryptographic, Hardware, SW and system interface.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrates positive teamwork ethics and good leadership behaviors. Demonstrates good leadership behaviors.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • 4years of system/ECU development experience in design and release of electronic control module for automotive OEM and / or for automotive Electronic Control Manufacturer.
  • Experience in automotive connectivity solutions such as Bluetooth, Ultrawide band, Wi-Fi, or Cellular.
  • Hybrid position, could be fully onsite.
Preferred:
  • Teamcenter VSM, JIRA, and Github experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment pertaining to operating procedures and projects.
  • Mindset of Continuous Improvement SW Architecture Design.
