Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Material Handler at Mate Precision Technologies receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within the establishment. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Supports new and existing lean implementation in stockrooms and throughout the shop floor.Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and distributed. Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas, which may include driving the company van.Drives company vehicle to transport parts to/from plant to vendor locations or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. Employees with driving duties are also responsible for maintaining fuel, cleanliness, vehicle maintenance, and reporting of any damage or drivability issues are also required.Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, and in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code, placing materials in the correct predetermined bin location. Fills requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials, tools, and other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly lines, as needed.Assembles customer orders from inventory, placing orders on pallets or shelves, and conveying orders to the packing station or shipping department, when appropriate.Marks materials with identifying information. Records the amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Organizes and arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers. Uses a computer to enter records.Maintains inventory records. Cycle counts inventory at predetermined intervals, or as needed.Collaborates with others, is open-minded, responsive, and supports others' success efforts.Demonstrates integrity by being dependable, having good judgment, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions.Respectful of others, encouraging others to share their ideas, actively listening to others, and having common courtesy.Other duties as assigned. RequirementsQualifications:A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.A valid Minnesota Driver's License is required.Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred.Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.Knowledge and experience working in ERP systems is preferred.The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required. The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram format is required. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to drive a forklift with company-provided training/certification.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping. Use of hand to finger.
