- Responsible for promptly shipping and receiving incoming and outgoing orders.
- Obtains finished products from inspection to fill orders for stock items or special orders, carefully verifying identifying information and quantities.
- Places items in containers and wraps so that the invoice is visible.
- Receives "wrap and pack" orders correctly.
- Handles return shipments to manufacturer for repairs.
- Folds boxes for parts and packaging.
- Packages orders for local or out-of-town shipments.
- Re-orders perishable shipping supplies.
- Maintaining and establishing records and documentation of all types as required.
- Ensure all safety and personal protective equipment is always in place.
- Follow Work Instructions, procedures, and company policies.
- Other duties as required.
Shipping and Receiving Clerk Qualifications:
- Able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Able to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
- Able to operate forklift.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk, push, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
- Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force regularly.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over an extended period.
- Ability to repeatedly lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds; objects up to 70 pounds occasionally
- Handling material with a variety of possible characteristics including hot, wet, sharp edges and burrs, oils, grease, and solvents.
