Description Summary The Intake/Insurance Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for Autism Care Partners’ inquiries from phone, email, fax, about our services. They will triage and route calls as applicable acting as a source of information about the organization. They will work with the family to gather information and verify health insurance benefits to facilitate the acquisition of services. Essential Functions Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. Answer inquiries as they come in. Coordinate and follow up with the family to collect registration information and documents needed to move forward based on established workflow. Route non-Intake inquiries to the appropriate parties. Contact new and existing patient’s insurance company to verify coverage for services and explain it to families. Enter patient and insurance information into the EMR system (Central Reach). Update patient benefit information and verify that existing information is accurate. Coordinate with center-based staff as well as corporate billing and payor relations teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency with all related processes. Assist as necessary on projects and initiatives as directed by Director of Payor Relations. Take on new responsibilities as determined by organizational growth and change. This role is based in the Manhattan office with hybrid potential with minimum 3 days in office after the orientation period. Competencies (Interpersonal skills) Bilingual Spanish. Excellent customer service skills including active listening, adaptability, attention to detail, collaboration, conflict resolution. Attention to detail in following procedures and high degree of accountability for follow up to ensure excellent customer service. Team oriented with the ability to maintain communication with colleagues and give and receive constructive feedback. Strong computer and data entry skills and willingness to learn new programs. Meeting Expectations Weekly team and supervisor meetings. As needed with supervisors, team members, other staff. Supervisory Responsibilities None Work Environment This position operates in an office environment. Physical Demands This position involves long periods of sitting at a desk and computer use. Additional Requirements (Specific computer skills, licensures, certifications etc) Employees in this role are considered essential workers as part of the critical infrastructure.
