Project Manager Heavy Civil Construction Join to apply for the Project Manager Heavy Civil Construction role at McMillen McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager to join our growing construction division The position requires travel to projects throughout Southern Central states and will manage heavy civil jobs ranging from $5M $75M. This role reports to our Operations Manager and will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Responsibilities Manage mid to large?scale projects with moderate to high risk levels. Operate with minimal oversight from Construction Operations Manager, Director of Construction, and VP as needed through all project phases. Oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages of completion. Coordinate with Operations Manager to ensure project performance aligns with performance goals. Implement Corporate Safety Policy on all assigned projects. Mentor and guide Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants, and Project Engineers. Generate Work Plans for all assigned projects. Schedule projects logically and budget time to meet deadlines. Determine labor requirements and work with manpower coordinator to dispatch workers to construction sites. Inspect and review projects to ensure compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer. Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Obtain all necessary permits and licenses or coordinate with environmental and regulatory staff to ensure compliance prior to mobilization. Fill in for Project Superintendents as necessary, directing and supervising workers. Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, and cost tracking reports. Develop and implement quality control programs. Take action to address delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerning the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure proper procedures are followed. Evaluate construction methods and determine cost?effectiveness of plans using computers. Provide Project Management duties on multi?faceted, medium? to large?scale Design?Build projects. Review owner contracts and project estimates at various design phases (30%, 60%, etc.). Provide constructability review and coordinate with design engineers to incorporate constructability into final design. Create and prepare outgoing correspondence to clients, subcontractors, and other external entities, ensuring accuracy and professionalism. Review, edit, and ensure all documents submitted to clients are in McMillen format. Assist in preparation of Owner Payment Applications. Provide Project Closeout Documents as required to facilitate substantial completion and start of warranty periods. Track projects throughout warranty period and provide proper final closeout documentation upon completion. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent minimum of 5 years experience. 58 years of experience with heavy civil design?build projects, managing all aspects from design to procurement, construction and implementation. Compensation Package Pay Range: $107,634 $134,543 (DOE).
