PrideStaff Carlsbad has an excellent opportunity for a temp to hire HR Coordinator in Carlsbad, CA. HR Coordinator who has had exposure to safety in a manufacturing environment. The pay will be $28 per hour, Monday through Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm. Job Summary The HR Coordinator will support the HR department’s operations by performing a variety of administrative, clerical, and confidential tasks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assists with the development of policies, practices, and procedures as it relates to Human Resources and Safety. Answers questions about existing policies and guides employees through the employment process. HRIS entries and employee record maintenance. Responding to internal and external HR inquiries. Assists employees during open enrollment, mid-year changes, new employee benefits and related. Assists with recruitment and hiring matters, including reference checks and scheduling interviews. Coordinates and facilitates New Hire orientation. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits. Evaluate safety protocols and conduct safety training. Investigate accidents and identify root causes. Meets deadlines, prioritizes company assignments and maintains professional composure under pressure and dynamic conditions. Adjusts to new situations encountered on a daily basis and has the ability to learn new duties quickly. Performs all job functions in a safe manner following all established safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications | Competencies | Success Factors To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance and will be a consistent requirement for the position. AA Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of experience in HR/Safety, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Understanding of federal, state, and city safety requirements, including OSHA. Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking and presentation. Must be able to deal with confidential information in a professional manner. Ability to work with a sense of urgency. Ability to multi-task with different projects. Working Conditions Typical physical demands and the work environment characteristics an employee must meet and encounter while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, 70% of the time. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, up to 30% of the time. Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Perform all job functions in a safe manner following all established safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Must wear safety shoes & safety glasses in required areas. Must be able to work extended hours per the demands of the business.
