JOB SUMMARY:We are looking for a compassionate, Full-Time Life Enrichment Director for our community. This role is responsible for creating and carrying out activities for our residents in both Long-Term Care as well as our Assisted Living Residents. The activity program must be designed to meet the needs, capabilities, and interests of our residents and cover the spiritual, social, physical, and cognitive needs of all residents.Minimum eligibility requirementsMust be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the jobHave strong interpersonal skillsMust have compassion for and desire to work with the elderlyMust demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individualMust be honest, fair, and dependable, and respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of othersMust be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general publicBe able to handle difficult situationsBe able to comply with a monthly budgetMust meet all health requirementsMust pass a criminal background checkMust be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodationEssential FunctionsCreate daily activity calendars and distribute them to Residents monthlyMust create and maintain an Activity Board visible to all Residents, Team Members, and Family MembersCreate and carry out an Activities Program that complies with both federal and state regulationsParticipate in resident care plans and other appropriate meetings, as necessaryAttend daily team meetingsThe complete activity portion of the MDS timelyDocument resident participation in activities in Matrix CarePlan and carry out quarterly family nightsDeliver, and if needed, read mail to residentsAssume responsibility for scheduling and coordinating social programs for the Skilled Nursing Facility including Resident and Team Member eventsWork closely with other community personnel, family members, and residents to learn residents' interests, needs, and limitations to create personalized activities when neededCustomer service Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customersPerform job duties for residents and team members in a courteous and professional mannerTaking initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priorityMeet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (Visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents' families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors, and regulators)Residents' rightsEnsure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents' rightsOtherAdheres to prescribed sanitation practices and proceduresPerforms similar or related duties as required or directedFollow company policies and proceduresThe job description provides a framework for the job; other duties may be assigned as necessaryWorking conditions (travel, hours, environment)Scheduled hours; possible overtime. May work in other positions temporarily when necessaryIs subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminantsMay be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicalsPhysical/sensory requirementMedium work: the ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsMust function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staffMust be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the community.
