Position Summary:The Senior Health Safety Specialist will focus on improving health and safety at STARPLUS ENERGY by using his/her experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, control, and minimize hazards in the workplace. This position reports to the Health Safety Manager.Roles Responsibilities:Assist the Health Safety Manager with department planning activitiesConduct incident investigations and audits to identify and eliminate or minimize the chances of preventable work-related illnesses and injuriesFunction as an expert resource for consistent implementation of company health and safety standards and programsRespond to and reports emergency situationsManage compliance of annual safety trainingsPerform Risk AssessmentsTrack and record data for safety-related activities including injuries, near-miss incidents, etc.Enforce all company policies and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulationsCommunicate safety issues and concerns to departmental leadership in a timely mannerPerform other position related duties as assignedRequirementsQualifications:Basic:Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related fieldMinimum 5 years' experience in similar positionProficient in Microsoft Office ApplicationsExhibit excellent interpersonal abilities, effectively engaging with individuals at various organizational levelsStrong knowledge of all OSHA, federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to workplace health and safetyMust be eligible to work in the United StatesWhile travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as requiredPreferred:Previous experience managing health and safety personnelCertified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related DesignationBilingual (English and Korean)Working Conditions:Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to work in front of a computer screen for extended periods of timeAbility to operate basic office equipmentAbility to lift up to 20 poundsBenefit DetailsOur benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, PTO, 401K with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
