About the Company
The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a youth residential treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescents. Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes. The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing. Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.
1. Job Summary
The Resident Transporter is responsible for safely transporting Healing Lodge residents to the Family Wellness and Health Clinic for outpatient appointments and returning residents to the inpatient facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Responsible for transporting residents to and from locations on and off campus as needed/
•Offers support, encouragement and solace to residents.
•Ensures residents are comfortable and safe during transit.
•Responsible for monitoring the schedule for transport requests and appointments and completing them promptly.
•Complies with health, safety and confidentiality regulations.
•Maintains accurate daily logs of Healing Lodge golf carts and government vehicles.
•Reports any maintenance issues that pose safety concerns.
•Works with counselors, behavioral intervention specialist, medical staff, and facilities to provide continuum of communication in regards to resident transportation, scheduling and maintenance.
2. Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Current Washington State drivers license with no restrictions. Must have clean driving record with no moving violations or accidents in the last three years.
•Must become CPR/First Aid Certified
•Must be 21 years of age or more
•Experience working with youth preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Able to utilize emotional intelligence
•Ability to exercise professional boundaries with residents at all times.
•Reliable time management skills and punctuality
•High level of communication skills
•Ability to utilize de-escalation skills
•Good physical fitness.
3. Work Environment

Environment and Physical Demands:
•Work environment is both formal and informal, multi-team organization and management approach, autonomy-oriented
•Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to drive a variety of motor vehicles.
•Continuous sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to manipulate keyboard, equipment controls, and other office equipment; pinch grasp to manipulate writing utensils
•Frequent side to side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials; lifting objects weighing up to 20 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 yards
•Occasional squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height, moderate grasping to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifts objects weighing 20-35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 ft
•See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate equipment
•Frequent walking within a 50-acre campus environment with varying degrees of surfaces; flat, hilly and rocky, and working in a multi-level building facilitating HR services in/off site locations (Oregon, WA, Idaho)
