Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide quality care including assisting the RNs and Physicians in Endo procedures, to disinfect, maintain & troubleshoot equipment, assist with clerical duties and transport patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of basic patient care, to include activities of daily living, vital signs and intake and output.
  • Participates in the unit based Quality Improvement process.
  • Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient right to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality.
  • Organizes and communicates patient care activities to the patient and to the Registered Nurse.
  • Perform all work related specialized tasks safely, proficiently and within department and hospital policy/procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

  • High School or equivalency,
  • CNA certification.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)

REQUIRED

  • Current BCLS certification required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

PREFERRED

  • Endoscopy and Nursing Assistant experience

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

PREFERRED

  • Reads and writes basic English
  • Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff.
  • Knowledge of body substance isolation
  • Ability to listen empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs.
