Labor Regulation Specialist

Description
This position performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties which require a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Specifically and particularly, the position will coordinate with the vessel operation teams and order ILA labor on a daily basis (including weekends and holidays). Verbal communication with all involved in our industry occurs constantly.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinates and hires our labor through the Automated Dispatch System (ADS)
- Answer multi phone calls/texts/emails with professionalism and promptness.
- Monitor and track worker's skills, abilities, seniority, certifications, etc. to best position each individual on vessel operations
- Work closely with vessel operations, union officials, and individual workers
- Generates vessel outturn reports
- Must be available to work late / early hours (including Holidays).
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1+ year experience in the stevedoring industry and basic knowledge of vessel operations and ILA contractual agreements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
- Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
- Ability to deal with customers issues effectively and professionally
