Stores Clerk

The Stores Clerk is responsible for two areas - Stores and Receiving (receiving only after receiving hours and on weekends). In the Receiving area, the Stores Clerk has the responsibility to receive all truck deliveries that arrive. This includes checking for quality, inspecting for damage and specifications of purchased materials. Stores Clerk is also responsible for all chemical tanker trucks when Receiving/Traffic Coordinator is not available. Example: HF, Nitric, HCL, Peroxide, Ammonia, Lime, etc. Stores Clerk is also responsible for the disbursement of all requested stores items. This includes restocking of the Stores area and inventory control.

DUTIES

Primary Receiving Activities

1. Receives all trucks when the Receiving Department is not present, inspecting shipments for quality, damage and specifications. Places material in designated storage area and communicates delivery with receiving personnel.

2. Directs and checks in chemical tanker trucks to designated storage tanks.

3. Performs nightly acid inventories between 5-7am.

4. All Stores Clerks will be trained and/or certified on operating all the power industrial lift trucks and all other equipment used in the Central and LP Stores areas.

Primary Stores Activities

1. Issues spare parts for all plant and administrative personnel using NAS eight digit coding system.

2. Places all inbound stock and non-stock items in their designated storage areas.

3. Counts designated inventory on a monthly basis. A specific area is inventoried each month so a complete inventory is done twice a year of all stores items.

4. Housekeeping of all storage areas always maintaining a clean and safe storage area in compliance with ISO-9002 standards.

5. Performs random stock checks and notifies Group Lead of impending stock outs on all items.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Reports directly to and is accountable to the Stores Supervisor and Group Leader. Receives work direction and instructions from the Supervisor and Group Leader.

2. Services the needs of all NAS personnel, both plant and administration.

3. Stores Clerk reports concerns with quality, damaged shipments and/or incorrect deliveries to Group Lead and/or Supervisor.

4. Other duties as assigned.

5. Participation in continuous improvement programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

This opening is due to a military leave of absence for at least one year. The qualified candidate who receives this position must be willing to accept another position within NAS upon the military personnel's return.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED).

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Mobility in plant.

Mobility: Standing (Stationary) - 10%, stand/walk - 40% walking- 30%, sitting- 20%

Strength and Agility: Lifting - occ. 75 lbs., carrying - occ. push/pull - occ. climbing- occ. balancing- occ. bending occ. crouching - occ. kneeling- occ. twisting and turning - occ.

Dexterity: Grasping (firm/strong) reaching. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
