Help us help others, and join Team Unum today General Summary: General Summary Responsible for the growth of Brokerage Influenced (BI), Commercial and Public Sector sales in their assigned region in partnership with Colonial Life’s Career Distribution Channel. Growth will come from Brokerage Influenced, Commercial, Public Sector, and Premier Clients. NOTE: Candidates for this opening must reside in or be willing to relocate to CO or MN Principal Duties and Responsibilities Increase profitable BI Public Sector, Commercial and Brokerage sales growth in partnership with the Colonial Life sales organization and home office business partners Increase the number of NEW BI Public Sector and Commercial accounts and NEW producing brokers Act as a strategic business partner in presentations for potential and existing customers Create and execute business plans that align with goals of the Territory Sales Managers (TSM) and the company Train and develop the Colonial Life sales hierarchy in the areas of BI Public Sector, Brokerage, and the Colonial Life value proposition. This includes decision maker presentations, brokerage differentiators, National Broker Partners, and all available marketing programs. Ensure appropriate distribution alignment between Colonial Life’s field organization and national broker partner offices Utilize Colonial Life’s overall Value proposition to educate brokers on our expertise in the public sector, commercial, brokerage, and large case markets Cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external partners Manage and participate in broker meetings, forums, and lunch & learns within assigned region Evaluate potential MAP, Worksite Specialist, Finance Rep, and HO visit requests within assigned region. Work with VP of Sales, TSM and AVP of Broker Market Development to approve or decline request. Create visibility in the market by participating in broker focused and Public Sector strategic partner events, conferences and tradeshows, within their region Responsible for timely submission of weekly recap reporting of in territory and results, along with leave behind actions for the TSM, core team and other regional resource. Adhere to company’s expectation regarding budget and expense management May perform other duties as assigned Job Specifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 8 + years of Benefits Broker sales/marketing experience Strong experience in the voluntary employee benefits industry Strong ability to communicate, influence, and persuade others Licensed to solicit insurance or the ability to obtain insurance license in states within assigned territory within 45 days Strong problem solving, planning, and presentation skills Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills Ability to travel 65% to 75% of the time #LI-TR1 Unum and Colonial Life are part of Unum Group, a Fortune 500 company and leading provider of employee benefits to companies worldwide.
