JOB SUMMARY
TheCurriculum and Training Specialist will play a crucial role in the development andimplementation of training programs and initiatives within Volunteers ofAmerica Southeast Louisiana. This position requires a highly organized andcreative individual with a passion for education, curriculum development, andadult learning. The primary objective is to enhance, promote, and maintain highstandards of service delivery through curriculum planning and traininginitiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a nonprofitsetting and a strong commitment to our mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. CurriculumDevelopment: Collaborate with Program Directors on aquarterly basis to ensure course design, development, and selection ofcurriculum materials align with organizational goals and objectives. Createtraining plans in the Relias Learning Management System. On an annual basis,create a Leadership Development plan, incorporating the use of externalpartners, trainers, and educators to enhance training offerings. Serve as aresource to agency leaders in addressing competency gaps. Ensure thatcurriculum content is engaging, culturally sensitive, and inclusive.

B. TrainingProgram Management: Oversee the planning, scheduling, andimplementation of training programs for staff and stakeholders. Evaluatetraining needs through surveys, assessments, and feedback mechanisms.

C. Training& Delivery: Facilitate training sessions, workshops, andother educational programs, employing various instructional techniques toaccommodate different learning styles. Monitor and assess the effectiveness oftraining programs and make continuous improvements.

D. Compliance: Develop and implement a comprehensive plan tomaintain compliance with the Agency and CARF standards, as well as Federal,State, and other applicable regulatory/funding entities. Work closely withvarious departments to identify training needs and align curriculum withorganizational priorities. Collaborate with external partners, trainers, andeducators to enhance program offerings. Maintains the agency performance review process (six-month, anniversary,and fiscal year review process).

E. Documentationand Evaluation: Maintain accurate records of trainingactivities, attendance, and participant feedback. Conduct evaluations tomeasure the impact and success of training initiatives.

F. System/Reports/Analysis. Will serve as a primary point of contact and Agency expert on the ReliasLearning Management System. Complies metrics and analysis with a focus onidentifying opportunities to develop or recommend training to address staffperformance issues and development needs.

G. SpecialProjects. Performs other related duties and responsibilitiesas assigned or required.

ADDITIONALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Oversee and/or participate in the printing, binding, and assembly oftraining materials as well as transportation of materials to various facilities.
•Coordinates acquisition, transportation, assembly, and use of trainingequipment including computers, digital projectors, screens, sound systems, andother equipment necessary for supporting training program initiatives.

KEY CONTACTS
•Relias LearningManagement System representatives to coordinate services and maintain expertiseon the system features, programs, and resources.
•Serve as primaryrepresentative of the Agency with respect to third-party vendors providingtraining-related products and services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES:

This position requires knowledge, skills, andabilities equivalent to:
•Bachelor's degree ineducation, Training, Organizational Development, or a related field.
•5 to 7 years of provenexperience in curriculum development and adult education, particularly in anonprofit context.
•Certified Professionalin Learning and Performance (CPLP) or another professional trainer credentialedpreferred.
•Knowledge of adultlearning principles and learning development best practices.
•Strong projectmanagement skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills.
•Familiarity withtechnology tools and e-learning platforms.
•Strong presentationskills with the ability to modify style, approach, and techniques asappropriate based on participant needs. Ability to effectively use teachingaids (flip charts, slides, handouts.) Working with knowledge of audiovisualequipment is required.
•Strong knowledge ofdatabases and other computer software, including but not limited to, MicrosoftOffice products - MS Office Suite
•The ability to worksome flexible hours is required. Theability to travel is required.
