**Description**

The Sherwood Companies have a proven track record of completing a variety of projects from General Construction, to Construction Management and Design Build Projects for both public and private owners. A brief summary of the types of projects include, urban expressways, bridges, underground utilities, dam construction, asphalt/concrete paving and water/wastewater treatment plants.

Sherwood Construction has the ability to self-perform many types of civil construction including earthwork and site prep, concrete and asphalt paving, civil and structural concrete, rock excavation, piling and sheet piling, sub-grade stabilization, and water/waste-water treatment facilities. We also have a tremendous amount of experience with all underground utilities including sanitary sewer, water, storm sewer, and main electrical distribution.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The incumbent will be responsible for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of concrete to various projects driving a truck with a 32-ton capacity. The incumbent will conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and will be responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of Agitor ready-mix truck and concrete plant. Must be able to travel from jobsite to jobsite. This role is classified as safety sensitive. **BENEFITS**

**ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE**

Operate and drive an Agitor ready-mix truck in a safe and efficient manner adhering to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Sherwood Construction rules and regulations

Provide routine maintenance of equipment including fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed

Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the Agitor ready-mix truck

Drive trucks with capacities of 8 yards of concrete

Ability to operate water truck as needed

Use water hoses, brushes and other cleaning supplies to maintain a clean Agitor ready-mix truck

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections

Utilize communication devices such as CB radios and phones to exchange information

Fluctuate daily start and stop times based on project schedules

Perform concrete plant maintenance as needed

Ability to dismantle and relocate concrete plant and truck

Demonstrate professionalism and clear communication at all times

Assist in training of co-workers as needed

High School Diploma or GED required

Must be 18 years or older

Have a valid Class A CDL

Experience in ready-mix operating preferred
