The Assistant Supervisor of Emergency Medical Services is responsible for administering pre-hospital care to the patient at the ALS level as an emergency medical services practitioner. Ensures compassionate delivery of quality care and services in a professional, cost-effective and timely manner.

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. GENERAL DUTIES

Receives calls on the dispatch and responds utilizing the proper response code. Ensures appropriate documentation of required details.

Aids by driving vehicle/ambulance for emergency patient assistance as required. Uses proper response codes as outlined in the EMS policy and procedures.

Assists patient with breathing/bleeding/injury and uses techniques and equipment to maintain patient's airway. Controls all major bleeding by using different acceptable techniques.

Contacts medical control and relates patient reports over the radio to the online physician and follows direct order to continue care while in transport to the hospital.

Plans daily assignments and oversees daily operations of the crews to arrange time off or cover shifts to meet minimum staffing levels.

Develops coordinated teamwork between field crews as part of an integrated operation.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

2 years of related experience as an EMT-P required.

Defensive Driving

Hazmat Awareness

ACLS within one year of hire

PALS within 6 months

CPI

Chauffer's license or equivalent
