About the team

At Pfizer we make medicines and vaccines that change patients' lives with a global reach of over 780 million patients. Pfizer Digital is the organization charged with winning the digital race in the pharmaceutical industry. We apply our expertise in technology, innovation and our business to support Pfizer in this mission. The

Biopharma, Patient & CDI

(BPC) team creates technology solutions for our external customers. This includes all digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & devices) products, platforms, services and experiences in service of patients, HCPs, payors, pharmacists, or clinical sites. Within BPC, the

Platform DevOps

team are accountable for the platforms at Pfizer that allow the creation, configuration, launch, and support of all externally facing digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & device) products, services, and experiences, servicing all external customer types at Pfizer. This includes our

Marketing Technology (Martech) platform .

Our MarTech team manage the customer data that Pfizer collects from its integrated websites, mobile apps and marketing platforms. We have a range of traditional MarTech as well as journey orchestration, channel and analytics tools. Our platform has evolved over 8 years to send millions of emails and integrate billions of customer interactions and events. Our mission over the next few years is to change how customer data is managed, from fragmented implementations to a coherent customer-data ecosystem of services dedicated to the collection and management of profiles, consents and organised data. We also aim to improve the marketer experience and to improve patient outcomes through tools that enable our marketing teams to create finely tuned, intelligent and relevant audiences, messages and journeys that can be activated across any or all of our channel options. Role Summary

We seek a leader to join our team and be the Engineering Lead for two critical areas within our overall offering. Journey Orchestration & Campaign Building Service

Channel Activation Services

In this leadership and management role, you will act as visionary and executor of these technical services. You will lead teams totaling 10-20 colleague and contract resources to understand the business contexts, solve complex engineering problems, craft the technical designs and ensure a successful delivery of high-quality products and services from inception to completion. This role requires exceptional technical knowledge and experience in the modern MarTech space, strong management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while sharing responsibility with other program leads for achieving the desired objectives. You will be accountable for delivery of security-and privacy-first capabilities while creating an environment where engineers can do their best work as measured by a quarterly Developer’s Experience survey. You will align with and contribute to our network of service managers and principal engineers. This role requires a mix of strategic thought,

negotiation/influencing,

planning, team management, delivery management and the ability to meet the “hands on” engineers where they are to discuss issues, suggest solutions, review code and ensure we meet our duties of technical excellence, security and protecting customer data. Responsibilities

Core responsibility: product & service delivery The core responsibility for this role is to ensure that all business needs identified for your Journey Orchestration, Campaign Building and Channel Activation services are met and managed. Your purview encompasses all product, project and service roadmaps, in partnership with leaders from within our Chief Marketing Office (CMO).

Key to the success of this role is your ability to leverage your extensive MarTech engineering experience to understand the landscape, influence strategy, make good decisions and then deliver on them as part of the wider CRM and Customer Data ecosystem and architecture. You will often act as a translator between business stakeholders and technical engineers, to ensure that technical, security and privacy considerations are represented in strategic discussions and business objectives are being met by our solutions. You will work with your CMO and other partners to craft product roadmap, bringing your extensive MarTech engineering experience to bear to shape requirements and delivery plans. You will work with your reports to execute and manage the delivery, setting and maintaining expectations appropriately, handling speed bumps and pivots and balancing progress with our duties of technical excellence, security and protecting customer data.

Service Delivery and DevOps culture Key to the success of this role is the ability to design and run the operating model for the services. You need to ensure the successful operation of these services, their reliability, uptime and that they are consistently fit for purpose, well configured and operated securely. Part of this

entails creating

a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout your teams from early project planning through to delivery and sustainable

operations. The

successful candidate will have all the technical, leadership and interpersonal skills required to create a sustainable environment of collaboration across multiple teams at Pfizer. You will also need to be able to manage incidents when they arise through carefully prepared processes and thoughtful vendor management, and communication

approaches. Success

in this role will be measured not just by performance of applications under scope, but by the culture of quality that is created throughout the team and in finding opportunities to improve stability, security, and

performance. Management duties You will manage Pfizer colleagues, technology vendors and a multi-national team of on/near/off-shore resources. You need to be an experienced people leader, with the ability to collaborate and influence across Platform DevOps, Chief Marketing Office and Pfizer Digital in general, including engineering and product roles. You will need to build a team able to accept and accommodate change. Our Marketing capabilities, people, skills and strategies are evolving rapidly and our teams have to be able to adapt to this changing landscape. You will need to be comfortable actively managing vendor relationships to ensure Pfizer is getting the quality and responsiveness required to ensure high quality outcomes for our customers. Finance Management This role will require excellent financial management capability with responsibility for portions of a multi-million-dollar budget and multiple service contracts. Qualifications and education

In order to fulfil your responsibilities, we expect that you possess and can demonstrate: Proven, extensive MarTech experience
