ROLE SUMMARY

The Data Science & AI team within Commercial Analytics & AI (CAAI) is focused on turning data into actionable intelligence, helping Pfizer to remain competitive and innovative in today's data-driven environment. We are crucial in extracting insights from large datasets to drive strategic decisions. Collaborating closely with experts from various fields, our team uses advanced statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data visualization tools to uncover patterns and correlations in the data. Additionally, we strive to deliver innovative capabilities by implementing cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence techniques to solve complex problems and add value.

At Pfizer, we are seeking a Sr. Director / Team Leader, Data Science and AI who will lead the development and scaling of AI-powered analytical tools for Pfizer's Commercial organization and oversee a team of approximately 5 colleagues. This role involves executing and interpreting AI/ML models, defining problems, and communicating solutions clearly and effectively based on data-driven insights.

Lead Innovative Data Science Capabilities

  • Design, implement, and scale innovative AI solutions across the organization.
  • Build and manage a team of data scientists, establish analytical processes, and mentor junior team members.
  • Drive the delivery process using agile methodologies, ensuring quality and innovation.
  • Enhance and refine capabilities based on feedback and insights, continuously improving implemented solutions.
  • Champion innovation and foster a culture of experimentation within the organization.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally as a Brand/TA Focused Analytics POD

  • Work collaboratively within the analytics POD to develop and execute AI capabilities focused on brand analytics.
  • Provide actionable insights to Commercial teams, aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Represent data science capabilities in Analytic POD meetings.
  • Ensure seamless integration of brand analytics insights into decision-making processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Analytics Engineering to optimize the data ecosystem for data science modeling purposes.
  • Partner with Digital teams to enhance data science capabilities using digital data sources effectively.
  • Drive collaboration across teams for integrated data science initiatives, promoting efficiency in decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience in engineering, economics, statistics, or related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred, with 5+ years of experience in applied econometrics, statistics, or machine learning.
  • Extensive experience applying data science models in a business environment.
  • Proven track record in managing high-performing teams across different locations.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning technologies and visualization techniques.
  • Deep understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Background in influencing commercial strategies, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Proficient in managing secondary data for real-world applications.
  • Ability to translate data analysis into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Flexible, able to prioritize tasks in ambiguous situations.
