Position Overview: Regional Sales Manager We are seeking a driven and experienced Regional Sales Manager to spearhead our sales initiatives for New England (Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts). This role is critical in developing effective sales strategies, driving revenue growth, and expanding our customer base among municipalities and public sector entities committed to enhancing road safety. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge, strategic sales acumen, and a passion for advancing public safety initiatives. A solid understanding of traffic safety principles, engineering, and Vision Zero principles is ideal for advocating for and selling sophisticated traffic enforcement solutions. Position Responsibilities: · Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base, focusing on traffic safety solutions. · Proactively contact and physically meet potential customers via phone, email, and social media to introduce products and services with the ability to identify and ‘cold call’ potential clients. · Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key stakeholders in municipal governments and traffic safety organizations. · Drive the sales cycle from prospecting to closure, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs and compliance with public safety regulations, Vision Zero, and traffic safety policies. · Engage with city planners, civil engineers, and local government officials to discuss and promote solutions that align with traffic safety and engineering best practices. · Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives. Develop strategic sales plans based on regional safety needs and traffic data analysis. · Educate potential clients (police departments, mayors, city councils, and government leaders) on the importance of automated enforcement technology. · Deliver professional demonstrations and/or presentations about Blue Line products and solutions and how our technology can integrate into current traffic systems to optimize their traffic safety outcomes and goals. · Analyze regional market trends to adjust strategies and maximize competitive positioning. · Provide timely outreach, management, and tracking of incoming leads online, in-person meetings, phone, email, social media, conferences, and events. · Using Insightly CRM, provide regular sales forecasts and reports to Blue Line leadership, including monthly reports and quarterly presentations. · Analyze market trends and participate in traffic safety and public sector conferences to stay ahead of industry developments and market conditions · Work closely with the Inside Sales and Marketing teams to identify and pursue new sales opportunities and presentation material. · Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Blue Line Solutions hardware & software solutions · Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits. · Minimum of 8 police agency visits per week · Minimum of 10 calls & 10 emails per day · Attend law enforcement, traffic and government meetings as well as conferences and trade shows. Candidate Requirements: · Minimum of two years of proven experience in sales, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in public sector sales or traffic technology. · In-depth knowledge of traffic engineering, urban planning, and Vision Zero initiatives. · Strong, independent organizational skills are a must, capable of handling a heavy workload with minimal supervision and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. · Excellent communication, presentation, customer relationship, and negotiation skills. · Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into strategic insights. · Willingness to travel extensively throughout a three-state region as needed. At least 50-75% travel. · Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics in the public sector. · Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. · Ability to adapt to various working styles under tight deadlines. · Ability to successfully balance multiple priorities. · Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. · Must be able to pass a federal background check and drug test. Ideal Candidate Qualities: · Strong background in traffic safety policies and programs, as well as working knowledge and willingness to become an expert in Vision Zero Network programming. · A bachelor's degree in Traffic Engineering or Intelligent Traffic Solutions, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, and communications, or a related field (preferred). · Prior law enforcement experience preferred · CRM and database experience. · High proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams) · Experience in a small, fast-growing company. KEY RELATIONSHIPS · The Regional Sales Manager reports directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing. This role works closely with the leadership for Sales & Marketing, Operations, Permitting and Program Management, Finance, the Technology Division, and Agency Operations.
