Summary/Job Purpose:

The Sr. FP&A Analyst will assist with the annual Budget for MSMM, MSIGIS, MSIA, MSU, MSIGS and MSIGH. Includes implementation and maintenance of budget system, preparation and analysis of management reports and extensive analysis of budget/actual results. Collaborate with managers to develop budgets/Forecast.

Essential Functions:

Budget Reporting/Expense Analysis

  • Maintenance, analysis and distribution of monthly and quarterly budget results for the management company, services company and insurance companies.
  • Expense variance analysis & write up for budget/ actual and current to prior year variances. Involves frequent interaction with management team regarding expense analysis and trending.
  • Analysis of various financial results compared to budget on a monthly basis as necessary.
Annual Budget Process
  • Preparation of outlooks and forecasts for MSMM, MSIA, MSU, & MSIGH.
  • Compilation and analysis of annual budgets for MSMM, MSIA, MSU, & MSIGH. Entails projection of all income related data (Premiums, Reinsurance, Investments, Losses, & Expenses) and capital expenditures. Involves considerable interaction with management staff.
Budget System Maintenance/Documentation
  • Documentation & maintenance of Policies & Procedures related to Budget.
  • Implementation, maintenance & update of budget system for MSMM, MSIGIS, MSIA, MSU, MSIGS & MSIGH. Includes maintenance of accounts & tables, updates to cost centers, and preparation of numerous system generated reports.
  • Responsible for all Workday/Adaptive system & report maintenance including workflow, user administration, report modification, adding new department codes and setting up budget scenarios. Working with all users of Workday to ensure that the budget process is a success.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Diploma/Degree:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience is require including a strong working knowledge with insurance budgeting/forecasting, expense analysis and general accounting
  • Familiarity and experience with expense allocation
  • Ability to write memos and procedure documents
