Purpose

To provide professional nutrition services, programming, and education for University Housing and Dining while ensuring compliance with federal and local guidelines for efficient operations within all UHD Dining Units. To provide tactical & strategic requirements related to nutritional programmatic development & analytical assessment activities.

Responsibilities

  • Food Systems Administration: Collaborates with purchasing, the culinary team, Food Pro system administrators, and vendors to gather accurate ingredient and allergen information and nutrition facts for items within global inventory. Analyzes new products and product substitutions to provide recommendations on acceptable items that align with department standards. Analyzes recipes for nutritional adequacy and identification of allergens, as well as assigns appropriate web codes to global recipes within the Food Pro system.

  • Nutrition Student & Community Counseling: Serves as the main point of contact in dining for students seeking dining accommodations or who have questions or concerns regarding nutrition or specific dietary needs. Works with the culinary and management teams to ensure students' dietary needs are being appropriately accommodated.

Required Qualifications

At least 2 years' experience providing nutrition services and education. At least 1 year of supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or a similar course of study. Registered Dietitian, American Dietetic Association, or similar. Ability to complete and maintain University Housing and Dining Food Safety Training and/or ServSafe throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree. At least 2 years of supervisory experience. At least 3 years' experience providing nutrition and services and education. Experience working in a university setting. Experience with Food Pro or similar food management systems.

Hourly Rate

$32.21
