An Equipment Engineer is needed for the world's largest standalone medical technology development company in the Billerica, MA area. This role seeks a skilled Mechanical or Electrical Engineer experienced in building complex fixtures, reading technical drawings, performing machining operations, and qualifying equipment in a medical device manufacturing environment, with a emphasis on teamwork and meeting aggressive project timelines.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, select, and order equipment suitable for manufacturing company products.

  • Oversee installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

  • Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering teams.

  • Study equipment performance and reliability to establish uptime improvement programs.

  • Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Communicate frequently with internal contacts, interact less frequently with external contacts.
Skills:

  • Must know how to build mechanical and electrical fixtures.

  • Must have good and detailed knowledge of reading drawings, tolerances and BOMs.

  • Must have good ability to use machining operations like drilling, milling, polishing, grinding.
Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Ideally 5 years of experience in building mechanical fixtures.
