POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Support the operations team in the smooth functioning of the warehouse including inventory management and shipping and receiving. Duties will include receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, organizing inventory, maintaining accurate records of stock levels, and preparing orders for shipment. Additionally, you will be required to operate a forklift and pallet jack to move and store goods within the warehouse. It is expected the warehouse will be kept clean and orderly, and that standard safety processes and protocols are followed.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory Management:

  • Receive incoming shipments and sort and document contents.
  • Organize and maintain inventory using inventory management software.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper labelling and documentation of outgoing orders.
  • Maintenance of order management software (NetSuite, eBay, etc.)

Equipment Operation:

  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and according to company protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for damages or defects and document.
  • Following quality control procedures to ensure products meet standards.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in regular safety training sessions.
  • Required to lift 70 pounds and must hold a valid forklift license.

Organization and Cleanliness:

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse space, including shelving and storage areas.
  • Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Order shipping supplies as needed.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regard inventory and shipment statuses and any issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Coordinate with carriers for inbound and outbound shipments. (FedEx Ship Manager, UPS, broker portals, etc.)
  • Unload and load trucks, ensuring proper handling and documentation of goods.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Address any issues with orders or shipments promptly and effectively.

Team Support:

  • Assist colleagues in various warehouse tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment through cooperation and teamwork.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Ability to lift and move heavy items (70lbs), and stand for extended periods.
  2. Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment; certification required.
  3. Proficiency in inventory control techniques, including receiving, storing, and picking.
  4. Capability to maintain a well-organized warehouse space, including shelving and storage areas.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and vendors.
  6. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  7. Familiarity with inventory management software and the ability to use computers for data entry and communication.
  8. High school diploma or equivalent, additional training or certification in warehousing or logistics is a plus.
