As a Director of Talent Acquisition at Defense Unicorns, you will help setand own the strategy for attracting, recruiting, and hiring new talent(i.e. Unicorns) at scale. Responsibilities:Learn our company's products and business model. Develop and execute acomprehensive talent acquisition strategy tailored to the unique needs of ourcompany, supporting our business goals and growth objectives. Drive talentacquisition initiatives on a global scale.Strategize with leadership, departmental heads, and hiring managers andPeople Operations across the organization to forecast talent requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional People Operations teams, including TotalRewards (Compensation & Benefits), People Business Partners,Learning & Development, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belongingto share and support an integrated People strategy.Build and nurture a robust talent pipeline by cultivating relationships withtop industry talent, networking within communities, raising awareness ofour company, and leveraging external partnerships. Position the company asan industry leader from an employer brand perspective. Spearhead outreachinitiatives to cultivate talent pipelines from a diverse array of experienceincluding bootcamp programs, colleges, and universities.Ensure effective, seamless, fair, and compliant sourcing and recruitmentprocesses at scale while maintaining clear and timely communication whilebalancing the candidate experience with the hiring team experience andbusiness need.Review and reassess the talent acquisition hiring processes, at a minimum,every 12-18 months to identify areas for improvement and strategicallyimplement and manage changes to achieve system level outcomes. Advise ontraining, guidance materials, and resources available to supportstakeholders involved in talent acquisition processes.Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunitiesto the talent acquisition team (aka The Unicorn Collecting Team),fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.Utilize data-driven insights to track recruitment metrics, evaluate theeffectiveness of hiring strategies, and drive continuous improvement intalent acquisition technologies, processes, systems.Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and bestpractices in remote talent acquisition, maintaining our competitive edge inthe market.Identify and escalate patterns and trends to leadership as a trusted advisorwith recommendations for the company.Lead the full recruitment lifecycle for technical and non-technicalpositions, leveraging innovative sourcing strategies to identify and attracttop talent from diverse backgrounds to foster a diverse and inclusiveworkforceLead negotiations at the highest organizational level and support thenegotiation efforts at all levels to support the offer acceptance rateleveraging a thorough understanding of the company's total rewards package.Demonstrate an expert level of understanding of employment law and obligationsfor federal government contractors that impact talent acquisition processes,consulting with experts as needed, to dvise the company on guardrails andbest practices for legal hiring.Review and negotiate contract terms with external search partners.Propose plans for budgeting/investments in Talent Acquisition,execution, and scale of the teams. Own decision making in partnership withcompany and People Operations leadership. Preferred Experience and Qualifications:Proven track record of success in talent acquisition leadership roles,preferably in remote or distributed work environments in the technology ordefense sectors.Experience leading the end-to-end recruitment processes for technical andnon-technical roles, with a focus on sourcing and attracting top talent in acompetitive market.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspireand motivate teams and individuals to achieve goals and deliver results.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability tobuild relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across anorganization as well as externally on behalf of an organization.Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices,with a commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce whilemaintaining legal and fair hiring practices.Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of recruitment metrics to informdecision-making and drive continuous improvement.Familiarity with remote work technologies, collaboration tools, andapplicant tracking systems (Greenhouse) preferred.Passion for people, innovation, technology, and national defense, witha desire to contribute to our mission of advancing security and freedom.
