Environmental Coordinator

Job Details Division: Nucor Steel Louisiana LLC Location: Convent, LA, United States Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel Louisiana LLC is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Environmental Coordinator I. As the Environmental Coordinator, you will be responsible for all administrative functions related to the environmental department. Duties will include but are not limited to managing the environmental management system, learning management systems, document management system, and SDS / GHS database; assisting with data collection for compliance reports and monthly KPIs; performing data entry in various online applications; facilitating community outreach programs; assisting with training coordination; and performing additional duties as directed or required. Some travel may be required. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage regulatory filing, document organization and control, and proper retention of environmental documents. Maintain various management system content and workflows. Assist in maintaining the Environmental Department’s SharePoint site, ensuring content is current, accurate, and relevant in accordance with established requirements. Support and assist with preparing departmental compliance reports, including KPI (key performance indicator) reports. Maintain monthly reports of departmental expenses, review coding of costs, and issue requisitions as directed. Assist in finalizing external communications to regulatory agencies and track submitted documentation for proper reporting and record keeping. Facilitate the department’s community outreach events. Support external and internal compliance audits. Minimum Qualifications: Six months or more of experience working in environmental, safety, community/public relations, project coordination, or related fields. Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in environmental or health and safety discipline. Experience with ISO 14001 or related management systems. Experience with various software applications and Microsoft Excel. Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
