About the job CNC Programmer/Machinist

We are actively seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist for a leading client in the Chicagoland suburbs. The position is full-time and offers a great culture, a competitive salary, bonuses, OT, full health benefits, 401K, PTO, paid vacation, and a potential sign-on bonus

POSITION:

As a CNC Programmer/Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts. You will use your technical expertise to ensure that all parts meet the required specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine programming requirements.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Write and edit CNC programs using Mastercam software
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools and fixtures
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of machines
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Train and mentor junior machinists as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques and processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience in a variety of CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime as needed
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining is preferred.
