Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Atlanta, GA - Hybrid Opportunity

Overview:

We are actively supporting the hiring process of a Regional CPA firm in their endeavors to bring on a Senior Tax Accountant for their Atlanta, GA office. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive tax services to our clients, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and optimizing tax strategies to minimize liabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as the primary point of contact for tax-related matters.
  • Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct tax research to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Analyze financial statements and tax documents to identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize tax strategies for clients.
  • Assist with tax planning and advisory services, including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other tax-related transactions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance on tax compliance and professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit and consulting, to provide integrated solutions for clients financial needs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide proactive tax advice.
  • Assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities when necessary.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax accounting, and contribute to the continuous improvement of firm processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem FX Tax, UltraTax, other related software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Continuous learning mindset with a willingness to expand knowledge and skills in tax accounting.
