Site Director for our Before and After School Program within the Lewis Palmer School District Split Shift: Monday- Friday 6:30 am - 9:30 am and resumes again from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. 30 hours a week Leading Edge is a leading provider of extended learning programs for children at elementary and middle schools across the country. Our before/after-school programs are led by experienced educators in interactive, safe and nurturing environments. With a focus on academic skills, Leading Edge utilizes research-based programming to reinforce classroom learning with compelling activities that target social and emotional development, fosters teamwork, and promotes physical well-being. This position is both administrative and hands-on with 80% of your time spent in program with the children. Work hours are to be 30 hours a week (approximately 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon), which we classify as full-time. The hours you work during the day allow flexibility to better suit your personal scheduling needs. The Site Director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise teachers and other employees by ensuring your program is running to standard. Ensuring administrative functions are current to include state licensing related materials. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus. Meet with school administration to ensure your program is running efficiently. Ensuring state ratios are adhered to and are based on student attendance. Communication with parents and families on a consistent basis. Exceptional classroom instruction and management skills. Ability to make adjustments to activities/labs to be inclusive to all students. Be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Highly detail-oriented and organized in work. Demonstrated leadership experience. Onboard and train new employees. Ability to meet assigned deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Each center must have an on-site program director who must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. The program director must have demonstrated to the hiring authority maturity of judgment, administrative ability and the skill to appropriately supervise and direct school-age children in an unstructured setting. The Program Director must have completed at least one of the following qualifications: A four (4) year college degree with a major such as recreation, outdoor education, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education, or a subject in the human service field; OR Two years of college training and six (6) months (910 hours) of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of eighteen (18), in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children; OR Three years (5460 hours) of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience and one of the following qualifications: Complete six semester hours, or nine quarter hours in course work from a regionally accredited college or university; or 40 clock hours of training in course work applicable to school-age children and the department-approved courses in injury prevention, and playground safety for School-Aged Child Care Centers within the first nine months of employment.
