Description:Sanitation Worker Job Description As a La Segunda Central Bakery Sanitation employee, you will join a fast-paced family owned business that has served its retail and wholesale customers for over 100 years. We have great benefits including health/dental insurance, 401k with a company match, paid time off, 50% employee discount on food, staff appreciation events, and more Sanitation Worker Job Summary Our food processing plant is looking for a hardworking Sanitation Worker. In this role, you will use USDA-approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production and processing equipment, and ensure that there is no unnecessary waste along the assembly line. You will also clean the floors, ensure that the building ventilation is clean and working correctly, and refill sanitary products and soap in the bathrooms. Since we provide consumable products for sale and distribution to the public, we expect you to report any potential contamination issues. You may be asked to help with other packaging or processing tasks as needed. Sanitation Worker Duties and Responsibilities Use approved chemicals to disinfect surfacesDisassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipmentDisposing of waste along the assembly lineSweep and mop the floors of entire bakeryDust ventilation ducts to ensure proper airflowRefill soap and hand towels in the bathroomsReport on potential issues to managementReports directly to the Maintenance Technician on the shift.Come to work with a clean, neat appearance and in uniform.Responsible for ensuring the Plant is maintained in a clean, sanitary condition.Abide by the health department/FDA requirements and maintain clean work areas.Responsible for any assigned clean up task as defined in the Operations Book.Responsible for entering, checking off all required information in the Operations book.Ensure all equipment is used in a safe, correct manner and that each piece of equipment is cleaned after every use.Must be able to work any available time Monday-Sunday 5am-3pmMust be able to pass Background check.Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled setting.Qualifications: Able to understand and follow instructionsJanitorial or Food Prep Cleaning experience preferredAble to work well with othersAble to stand for long periods of timeA team player attitudeAbility to lift 50 lbs. overheadAbility to communicate and read labels in English (Bilingualism a plus)Attention to detailPhysical staminaPreferred candidates will have some of the following experience: 1-2 years+ experienceJob Type: Full-timeBenefits: Health insuranceDental insurance401k - Retirement planPaid time off/ paid vacationSick Days50% discount on MealsJob GrowthNo NightsHalf Off-Insurance PremiumOpen Door PolicyFree bread everydayClosed July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's DayPay Frequency: Weekly pay on WednesdaysRequirements:Forklift Experience is required
