Overview:
We seek a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our dental practice as a Patient Billing Specialist. The Patient Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing the patient billing and insurance claims process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in patient accounts and reimbursements.
Responsibilities:
Sending Statements: Prepare and send patient billing statements promptly and accurately.
Auditing Accounts: Conduct audits of patient accounts to verify billing accuracy and completeness.
Running and Posting Patient Auto Payments: Manage and process automatic payments from patients.
Calling Patients with Billing Inquiries: Address patient inquiries regarding billing statements and insurance claims.
Sending Claims: Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to dental insurance companies.
Support for Posting Payments: Assist in posting and reconciling payments received from insurance companies and patients.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Patient Billing Specialist or similar role in a dental office setting.
Knowledge of dental billing procedures and insurance guidelines.
Familiarity with dental coding systems (CDT codes).
Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in billing processes.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification (e.g., Certified Dental Biller) is a plus.
