The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of day-to-day duties to manage accounts primarily in the small group segment (25-200 ATNE); these duties can include, but not limited to: coordinating work with the producer, responding to direct inquiries or requests for information from clients and carriers, marketing clients and prospects RFP (request for proposal) benefits program, along with generating formal reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform client service functions in a timely, courteous and professional manner on a day-to-day basis, which includes responding to client questions,

researching/investigating

benefit issues and problem solving as required
Manages employee benefits book of business and builds, expands and solidifies relationships with existing clients
Leads appropriate resources to address the clients risk/managements needs
Responsible for maintaining accurate client demographic and contact information in company database (Zywave)
Secures/retains existing and prospective business and drives the sale of additional services and coverage levels.
Cultivates relationships with HR Managers and day-to-day client representatives (C level executives and business owners)
Assists clients with complex issues that have escalated including, but not limited to claims
Keeps clients informed on regulatory requirements under PPACA along with COBRA, FMLA, ERISA and HIPAA, etc.
Communicate in a timely and professional manner with clients, co-workers, and carriers
Manage renewal of existing business and implementation of new business, which includes collecting information from the client/prospect, reviewing quotes,

drafting/coordinating

administrative paperwork and applications, ordering/preparing employee packets, reviewing contracts, policies, and booklets for accuracy
Conduct open enrollment employee meetings and/or employee education throughout the year as needed
Assists with creating meetings agendas, timelines, and other client meeting documents
Coordinate and maintain company licensing and carrier appointments, as necessary
Other special projects and challenges as they present themselves

Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities

This position reports to the Vice President of LaSalle Benefits.

Qualifications
LaSalle Benefits Account Manager Benefits Job Description

Previous experience in employee benefits account management
Working knowledge of compliance and the Affordable Care Act (Health Care Reform)
Ability to work independently without supervision
Analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills, plus good interpersonal skills including a collaborative approach to problem-solving and pro-active attention to the impact that financial decision may have on clients
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ZyWave (Agency Management system) as well as all systems at LaSalle Benefits
Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task
Other challenges and projects as necessary
Licensed in Life and Health insurance
College degree or equivalent or other professional designation or experience
