Employee Relations Specialist

Solomon Page is conducting a search for a HR Generalist, to focus on Talent Management and Employee Relations for an incredible nonprofit. The position supports the organization as a member of the Human Resource team by performing a broad range of HR functional duties. This positon will be located on site in the Columbia, Maryland office.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day activities in the areas of employee/ manager relations, performance management, progressive discipline, and HR compliance including, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC
Must be well-versed in the investigatory process
Paying particular attention to fostering positive partnerships to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the organizational objectives and move them forward
The incumbent will maintain an effective level of business literacy about the organizations financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture, and its competition in the talent arena while practicing high levels of confidentiality and discretion deploying sound judgment with all sensitive matters
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required. SHRM Certification a plus
A minimum of three years of HR Generalist experience in direct service to employee and managers
Demonstrated proficiency with data entry, document review, and various systems including HRIS, and MS Office Suite and the ability to quickly adapt to the organizations talent management systems and workflows
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution, technical, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills; ability to adapt and prioritize for timely execution of duties
Thorough working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and their applicability in the organizations workplace
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on multiple priorities in a professional manner maintaining the utmost professionalism and confidentiality.
Flexibility and willingness to assist as needed in HR
Ability to relate well to staff and board members of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds
