Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Registered Nurse Job Duration: 6 Weeks Shift: Days Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Experience: Minimum one year of professional nursing experience preferred. License: Current licensure in the state of employment. Certifications: Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing. Must-Have: A valid driver's license is required. Proficiency in English: Read, Write, Speak. Job Description: - Plan and provide comprehensive nursing care.- Execute orders from Licensed Independent Providers.- Dispense and administer medications.- Assist Licensed Independent Providers in examinations and treatment of patients.- Apply nursing and supervisory techniques in the care, treatment, and referrals of inmates/residents.- Attend sick calls with the physician and prepare necessary examination items.- Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by policies.- Call for medication and treatment orders or other emergencies as needed.- Assess and refer inmates/residents to appropriate healthcare facilities.- Perform emergency procedures and notify providers for treatment orders.- Coordinate professional medical services provided by contract personnel.- Monitor inpatient hospitalizations for potential early releases.- Supervise and monitor nursing care provided by other nursing staff.- Maintain a good working relationship with facility staff and providers.- Utilize established policies and procedures in decision-making.- Evaluate and ensure the proper provision of medical services.- Maintain confidentiality of all medical records.- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of medical records and reports.- Observe and record inmate/resident behavior.- Inspect the medical unit for contraband and ensure secure storage of supplies.- Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups.- Prepare standard narratives, statistical summaries, and operational records.- Evaluate and recommend safety requirements for a safe working environment.- Facilitate accreditation of the medical program by adhering to required standards.- Prepare and disseminate safety and accident reports as needed.- Escort or coordinate movement of inmates/residents for medical treatment.- Perform searches for contraband and ensure security.- Take action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.- Perform rescue functions in emergencies and disasters, providing basic medical aid.
