Registered Nurse for a facility providing care to individuals under the jurisdiction of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Eloy, Arizona.

As a Registered Nurse in this Health Services environment, you will work collaboratively to deliver ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary care.

Registered Nurses are the primary healthcare providers in these facilities, ensuring care is available around the clock.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct intake assessments and physical examinations to identify medical conditions needing referral or treatment.
  • Administer care for common acute health issues following established nursing protocols.
  • Perform nursing rounds for patients receiving infirmary care and those in segregated housing.

KEY DUTIES

  • Deliver direct patient care.
  • Carry out prescreening and intake evaluations for newly admitted patients.
  • Utilize standardized intake tools to gather both subjective and objective data, escalating any abnormal findings to medical, dental, or behavioral health professionals.
  • Address patient concerns during sick calls, assessing and managing acute health issues.
  • Refer patients to Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants, physicians, behavioral health specialists, and/or dentists as necessary.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Provide clinical oversight to Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Administer prescribed medications through various routes including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, and others.
  • Execute treatments such as wound care, vital sign monitoring, and electrocardiograms as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform point-of-care testing or prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, taking appropriate actions based on lab results.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate care to stabilize patients and prevent further health deterioration, and facilitate transfers to higher levels of care.
  • May be required to engage in involuntary, court-mandated care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Arizona or a compact state allowing practice in Arizona.
  • At least one year of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential care setting.
  • Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Graduation from a nursing program accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Graduates from international nursing programs must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration to meet this criterion.
