Job Description:

The position is responsible for supporting the development and deployment of product initiatives within our Dry portfolio, to enable the successful delivery of the North American Mars Pet Nutrition targets. The position is also responsible to support existing product portfolios as well as continuous improvement for Dry products across all NA production sites.

This role will work cross-functionally to provide technical support for existing products, support new product development and drive continuous improvement, all while maintaining quality design and delivering desired product performance to both the consumer and pet. The role operates in a pet friendly, open office environment supporting pet nutrition.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Food Science, Technology, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 1+ years of experience in Product Development/R&D within a CPG company (food/beverage experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of product development from benchtop/pilot plant to full scale production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Food Science or Business Administration
  • Experience in project management. Stage gate process experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with people in other disciplines and/or business areas.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Execute with excellence Product Development deliverables for New Supplier Qualifications (NSQs) in collaboration with Commercial, Raw Materials, and Formulations.
  • Support business continuity contingencies that would require product development input across raw and packaging materials.
  • Support agreed productivity (DiB) projects and initiatives.
  • Create and align product design briefs with cross functional project team.
  • Use appropriate tools to facilitate prototype evaluation (creation and presentation).
  • Own product development within projects.
  • Support Process and Packaging Development Teams.
  • Follow corporate labeling and claim policy.
  • Support continuous improvement projects driven by Dry factories.
