Our client, a largely successful multi-state family-owned business, is seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join their team As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our client's financial records while contributing to the overall success of their organization.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain comprehensive balance sheet schedules and support them with proper backup documentation.
  • Oversee fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare financial statements and conduct Budget to Actual analysis.
  • Review subledger for accuracy and liability representation.
  • Maintain a clean AR Aging subledger through payment processing and deposit management.
  • Monitor AP Aging and related files to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure daily balance between subledgers and the general ledger.
  • Handle monthly and quarterly sales tax filings for applicable states.
  • Update and maintain accurate sales tax rates as necessary.
  • Manage FET payments and quarterly filings.
  • Facilitate acquisition and renewal of business licenses.
  • Manage daily operating account functions, including GJE processing and checks management.
  • Conduct commission and incentive calculations and maintain related records.
  • Generate quarterly reports on Distributions, Assets, Vehicles, and Depreciation.
  • Provide operational analyses and feedback to enhance departmental efficiency.

Staff Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in an inventory environment.
  • Knowledgeable in GAAP regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with using various accounting software, such as Microsoft Dynamics or QuickBooks.
  • Multi-state sales tax experience = major plus.
