An Engineering & Design firm leading the energy transition for Fortune 500 companies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help support projects related to oil & gas. This position involves managing all aspects of mechanical design for assigned projects, including control, organization, planning, and communication with the team, outside consultants, jurisdictional agencies, and client representatives. Responsibilities include conceptual design development, entitlement design submittals, coordination of outside mechanical design consultants, development of construction documents and P&IDs, and providing bid and construction support. Ideal candidates will have 8-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly with compressor stations, pump stations, and pipeline design and installation. Successful candidates should be self-starters capable of working independently. Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities: Review civil, mechanical, instrumentation, or electrical plans and specifications along with site survey information. Size and select pipes, components, and appurtenances for project-specific requirements. Select and specify gas system components such as piping, control valves, regulators, isolation valves, strainers, filters, pressure/temperature/flow instrumentation, vessels, heaters, and compressors. Select and specify mechanical system components such as piping, valves, pumps, fans, blowers, tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, and instrumentation. Coordinate design with clients, vendors, and inter-disciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural work. Perform sizing and performance calculations. Assist with project plans, reports, and other technical documentation. Mechanical Engineer Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Photometric Software. Skilled in all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). In-depth knowledge of the QA/QC process. Strong understanding and application of current building codes, with the ability to research, apply, and incorporate them into technical documents. High levels of initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness. Excellent communication skills, including graphic, writing, and oral communication. Ability to meet deadlines effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Education and Experience: California licensed Mechanical Engineer (required). Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in management and responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required). Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent (preferred).
